August 17, 2016 Report 8-16-16 and 8-17-16 8-15-16 Kirk Williams Cherry Hill N. J. had a banner day fishing , he had his limit and won the pool with a 6 lb. 8-17-16 Joe Guinda, from Colonia N. J. had a hot stick with his pool winning fluke of 7 lb.
With the strong westerly wind and the full moon outgoing tide all day fishing where we have been lately was not an option. Moved back inshore and found OKAY fishing with a mix of keepers and shorts on every drift.
Vinnie D'Anton caught one small blue on a Chug Bug, but had his 20-pound leader broken twice by unseen fish There was better news on small blues for the Shore party boat fleet. Matt Slobojian reported from Jim's Tackle in Cape May that Fluke fishing picked up last week on the reefs although the wind kept a lot of boats at the dock.
Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 16 16 August 2016 Capt. Tom I can only guess the weatherman kept most of the people away again today but we made both morning and afternoon trips. On the morning trip we had good drifting conditions and we were able to fish the deep of Ambrose channel.
