    Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 17 17 August 2017 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the afternoon trip we again picked at the shorts and caught more keepers then the morning.

    Capt. Erwin Heinrich of Scales N Tales from Twin Lights Marina in Highlands was disappointed in the fluke action he found Wednesday after the run east to Atlantic Beach Reef as even short fluke were scarce while lots of jigs were sacrificed to the sticky bottom that usually harbors larger fluke. The big money white marlin looked to be sewed up by The Griffin from Palm Beach with an 86-pounder, but on the last day there was a 95.

    The fish we did keep were all quality Fluke with a couple of five pound fish, a couple 6 plus including Alan, Richie and Tom. Jim Annie MClean also had a nice 5 and 3 pound Fluke with their sea bass app for dinner.

    Capt. Dave De Gennaro has had consistent action while chumming for mostly brown sharks in the 3-to-5-foot range with fairly light tackle from his Hi Flier out of Barnegat within five miles of the inlet. De Gennaro says the weather is shaping up for open trips offshore Sunday and Monday as he has reports of 20-to-60-pound tuna just 45 miles offshore.

    Atlanic Highlands fluke fishing August 15 15 August 2017 Capt. Tom The weatherman (this morning) and the weather (this afternoon) kept most of the people away but we made both morning and afternoon trips today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12 30 and 1 30 to 6pm).
