The one fish limit on blackfish continues, but Capt. Stan Zagleski put his regulars into hot release fishing Wednesday on his Elaine B II from Bahrs in Highlands as catches ran into the 30's of mostly legal tog by Big John Poraba of Pompton Lakes up to an 8 3 8-pounder by Mike Naipawer of Bloomingdale. Capt. Joe Massa, of My Three Sons from Morgan Marina, had a good variety trip on Wednesday as he caught blackfish, sea bass and porgies at Shrewsbury Rocks before adding a little tunny off Sandy Hook on the way back -- and ending with a double of school stripers off Keansburg.
10-20-16 Nice fishing again today, blackfish were chewing hard,no problem getting some nice fish to jump on your baits, porgy fishing was decent to,not as good as previous days, you had to work a bit harder and keep it off the bottom to stay away from the bait stealers but they were there. nice day out.

10 19 16 After a couple of days of mixed bag porgy blackfishing we fished exclusively for blackfish with a group of our regular toggers today and boy were they ever happy!!With fishing like today we will give the guys who come down tomorrow the option of either strictly togging or else doing the usual mixed bag porgy blackfish thing.
Mass caught a little tunny on the way back, and found some school stripers under birds off Keansburg where he caught a doubleheader of 25-and-27-inchers before leaving the flighty stripers. Many cast a Tsunami shad to release a 24-inch striper.
We started on 5-8 lb fish right away and as the day progressed, fishing got better with nice shots of blues along with a few albies and nice sized porgies. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
We ended the day with a few keepers one slot fish and a couple handfuls of shorts. Also bring something a little heavier in case we bait fish a medium action conventional is fine for that, 25 to 30 lb test, We have plenty of room for your extra rods.
