January 8, 2016 1-8-16 We had a pick-pick day of fishing , The togs were finicky today, you had to work at it to bring the togs over the rail, The white legger crabs gave you the most action. Some nice quality togs in the 6-7 lb size came over the rail, the short togs were active today Posted by Captain Cal II at 4 30 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Capt. Stan Zagleski said anchoring his Elaine B II from Bahrs in Highlands was difficult Thursday due to a lack of wind and current, but his fares caught from a couple up to 4-tog limits. I fished the Sea Girt surf at dusk Thursday with a similar lack of results, and the Seaside Park tackle shops had no reports today.
The morning, fishing started out slow. So it was a pick- pick morning of fishing, as the day went on the fishing improved, some of the group had their limits , others had a fewer fish, We also had some nice quality togs in the 8 lb.
A giant tuna run had just developed in the Mud Hole, and Pisano had boated a 400-pounder the day before through the tuna door of the 36-foot Runaway rather than having to hoist it in on a gin pole as was traditionally done. 1-7-15 Nice out there again,,the bite was off a little though. we picked some fish each stop. Few guys did get a limit of fish, but there were alot of shorts today for some reason. .Joe took home both pools with a 9lb. and they did chew both whites and greens today. few guys 2-3 keepers on just greens so the crab didnt matter.
