10 05 16 Fished local today with a small group and had very good porgiy fishing once again with everyone ending up with their limits along with a few blackfish up to 5 pounds for the guys who gave green crabs a try. Weather looks great through Columbus Day Monday so take advantage of it and the excellent fishing while it continues!!
Few party boats sailed today, and some have cancelled for Thursday, but the Golden Eagle from Belmar reported all you want jumbo blues from 10 to 18 pounds on Run-Off Hammered jigs and bait. Miss Belmar Princess ran east of Shark River Inlet to jig the same size jumbos.

We went into the ocean and tried a few spots but not it was not good and it was rough so we went back into the bay and only picked s a few more. On the afternoon trip we stayed in the where it was not rough and only picked a few fish on each spot.
The New Jersey Outdoor Alliance provided the following important notice This October 5th, 2016 NJOA's continuing efforts to bring New Jersey's offshore artificial reefs under the protection of a Special Management Zone (SMZ) enters formal review by the Mid-Atlantic Fisheries Management Council (MAFMC). To summarize, the SMZ Monitoring Team's recommendation is the SMZ Monitoring Team recommends that the Council designate all 13 New Jersey's artificial reefs located in the EEZ as SMZs.
