Capt. Rob Semkewyc reported very good striper action on Wednesday as his Sea Hunter from Atlantic Highlands limited on slots and released others while coming up just two short of a boat limit of keepers. The Queen Mary from Point Pleasant had almost a boat limit of of slot bass on Wednesday, and mostly 24-to-32-inch stripers on Thanksgiving.
At times the readings on the fish finder were so good I thought the whole boat would hook up and we would catch one. Some drifts we would catch 2-4 Stripers with some big blues mixed in and other drifts a few Stripers with no blues.
in the short trip today we had a couple of guys with 5 keepers,I dont think anyone caught a limit but the fish were there. Thats if you want to try,but guys caught fish as well today on conventional rigs.
Made a beeline to the grounds and found hundreds of birds, guys went to Work with the shads and poppers, had our Limit on fish From 15-30lbs. Guys got tired Of that dropped in the mojos to find some over fish andAlso for them to drink some adult beverages!
2016 Fishing Season Posted 24 Nov, 2016 By Capt. Don Happy Thanksgiving to all our customers!Really want to thank all our regulars as well as our first time customers for a great 2016 fishing season out of Sandy Hook, NJ.
As long as the fish are here, we are going to continue fishing daily for stripers and blues from 7 00 a. m. 2 30 p. m. all through the month of December. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Many released a bass of about 22 pounds while jigging during the cold and windy morning off Sandy Hook, and weighed a 25-pounder from that area in just 22 feet late in the afternoon on a Tsunami Shad. Grumpy's Tackle in Seaside Park reported the Tuesday surf bite turned on late in the morning as many bass up to 38 inches were weighed in.
