    On Saturday Sunday we had very good fishing for the BIG BLUES in the 8 to 18lb range. So there are still plenty of BLUES to catch before the STRIPERS arrive so come on down and get in on some of this action.

    Had to check out some of the spots, and started the day off with a lot of nice sea bass, but alas, they all had to be returned as their season is closed. I feel it was not a good season, though we did get the bigger fish, there just were too few, did the 1 2 inch size increase make a difference in the smaller fish, probably.

    At this point the pressure is off a little bit as we got some meat in the box, after few hours and few more shark bites i decide to make a move and it worked, as soon as the sun came up so did long fins we were site fishing for them watching them grab baits next to the boat everybody got to land a few of fish filled the box left them biting and went home. Lots of meat for the charter, good night fishing.

In the morning the crew wanted light tackle Mahi and had decent pick, breaking another boat record with A 56 inch, 35lb mahi, biggest I have ever seen in NJ!

    We started off in the mudhole and it was very slow with just a few ling coming up along with a few jumbo flounders (released). We tried a spot on the way home for Sea bass in state waters had a few keepers and a big trigger.

    We got back to bottom fishing today,headed offshore and got into some decent fishing as soon as we dropped. Nice when everyone goes home with fish which is what happened today.

    The best news of the day came from the Queen Mary out of Point Pleasant as they had a good bite of big blues on both jigs and bait. Small blues on bait was the surf nrews from both Grumpy's and Betty Nick's in Seaside Park, and the latter weighed in it's first fall bass -- a 30-inch, 8 1 4-pounder by Tom Nolan of Ridgefield.

    We fished a couple of different areas on the day and the guys were able to put together a catch of nice sized porgies although the guys had to pick through, and release, lots of keepers seabass in order to do it. Kevin Harding, Pearl River, NY, took the pool with a nice porgy.
