Capt. Dave De Gennaro of Hi Flier from Barnegat reports The big gator blues are getting more aggressive as the water temp climbs just a little in the back bay. Our last visit there on Saturday kept us jumping with the big blues who invaded our clam slick for two hours but Matt Polito of Phila, PA managed a 14 pound striper in the middle of the bluefish barrage.
We went north of our inlet and ended up having very good blue fishing on 8-15 lb blues. Miss Belmar t-shirts are in both long and short sleeves in black, indigo blue, white, charcoal grey and light grey for adults.
Atlantic Highlands stripe bass fishing May 8 08 May 2016 Capt. Tom Made our morning trip today for stripe bass and again it was all bluefish. We are fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12 30 and 1 30 pm to 6pm) from the Atlantic Highlands marina.
A few striped bass were caught each day with jumbo bluefish dominating the catches for our guys who had a ton of fun and all of the great action they could handle. Hopefully the great action continues until the opening of the fluke season!!
Striped bass have been few and far between for northern party boats in both the ocean and Raritan Bay, so skippers really appreciate the current abundance of big bluefish. Blues from 10 to 16 pounds were blasting poppers and swimmers in Barnegat Bay for anglers fishing with Capt. Dave De Gennaro on his Hi-Flier from Barnegat.
