    Weekend Wrap up Jan 30-31st Beautiful weekend, Saturday produced quite a nice catch today was slower, the swell was a contributing factor. The pool winner was an 8lber Sunday we were left with a heavy swell from the wind that rolled in overnight making todays catch not as great, but we did manage keepers the pool winner was a 7lber.

    It was a beautiful day for fishing, but the Golden Eagle from Belmar ended up jigging only a few mackerel along with some herring. There's some question now as to whether there will be any winter mackerel run.

    There is no mackerel report today as Capt. Jimmy Elliott started out with the Golden Eagle from Belmar, but experienced a steering problem right away and had to get back in the slip. It was fixed, but not in time to make the trip.

    Fishing was good for us on 2 out of the 3 spots we fished today. Everyone went home with fish today!

    Noted anglers including Oliver White and Eric and Moe Newman will be in the booth at times throughout the weekend, while Ian Devlin and Mark Sedotti, noted East Coast anglers who worked closely with Steve Rajeff in designing the PRO4x ShortStix, will be in booth on Saturday. Steve Rajeff will be giving his Better Loops for Accuracy and Distance' casting demos on Friday at 2 45pm, and again on Sunday at 10 15am.

    The weather and conditions don't look too good. Conditions do however look very good for the weekend!

    Mother Nature has to be on top of President Obama's flat-earther list as her sea creatures have failed to cooperate with NOAA's climate change prediction that anglers will have to learn new techniques for more southerly species such as red drum taking over in warming waters. Heilner also quoted the famed angler Phillip Mayer as saying surfcasters fishing for weakfish and kingfish at such spots as Corson's and Barnegat inlets regarded them as pests that ran off with their rigs since almost all were over 25 pounds from 1893 to 1902 when striped bass were also plentiful.

    We had decent life today with shorts and some keepers coming over the rail. To be quite honest, I was pretty happy with the life today after the weather over the weekend.
