    Sea bass reports from party boats have been very good since the season opened last Friday. At Atlantic Highlands, Capt. Ron Santee reported the Wednesday evebing sailing of the Fishermen produced up to five keeper-size fluke, and Thursday's morning trip was decent as Capt. Ron Sr. hooked six legal fluke, and fares had up to five that size.

    No great ball of fire today but we did catch some nice keepers along with some shorts. We had one man with the limit in the morning and one limit in the afternoon. The big fluke of the day was 5.6 lbs.

    The weather was a lot nicer today and we made both morning and afternoon trips. We did not have a lot of keeper fluke but the short action was better on both trips. We are fishing in Sandy Hook Bay.

    The guys went right to work and had non-stop action, managing to land 19 keeper sized stripers up to 25 lbs (only keeping legal limit) before calling it an early morning.

    Joe Melillo reported a big breakthrough on the surf this morning as Mark Malfa of Brick weighed a 27-pound striper at Castaway's Tackle in Point Pleasant after catching it in the dark on an SP Minnow. John Bushell, at Betty Nick's, heard from a regular who had been catching blues in the inlet on bucktails since 2 a. m. Allen Riley of South Plainfield put up with a steady drizzle at Sandy Hook as he saw Dan Brodzinsky, The Tin Man, catch two small bass on a new Tin Man Tackle jig with a white tail Riley did nothing on either lures or fresh bunker until getting ready to leave when a 30-inch bluefish crashed a bunker chunk and was released.
