    Made both morning and  afternoon trips the past two days. Yesterday morning we picked at the shorts and caught some keeper fluke. On the afternoon trip the action was not as good but we still picked at the shorts and had some keepers. Today was a different story. On the morning trip the it was a bit windy and the fishing was not good. On the afternoon trip the weather got nicer and the fishing was better. We picked at the shorts and caught some keepers.

    They have room on a reservation trip for bonito and little tunny on Sept. 6, and on their first canyon 31-hour sailing at 7 a. m. Thursday. Capt. Stan Zagleski will be finishing the fluke season with Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands by sailing at 6 a. m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but at 7 30 Tuesday before switching to porgies and blackfish daily at 7 a. m. on Wednesday.

    This morning, we had another good day of angling. We anchored up along the edge of the mud hole well east of shark river inlet. It didn't take long to start the mackerel and it got better as the day went on with some bonito and a couple of albies mixed in. It was an excellent day of fishing!

    Tuesday is the last day of fluke,and we are gonna have a special trip Tuesday with not only the seasonal on the line but also a big daily pool as well. stay tuned for details but it will probably be a ten hour trip specializing in wrecks and rocks looking for some big fish.

    Also a bunch of others had their 2 keepers. Now that we are done fluking we will be switching over to bottom fishing everyday for now and we will see what happens with the Stripers as we might do some of that this fall.

    The sloppy ocean conditions on Monday and Tuesday (rained all morning), kept us inside and we had good to excellent fishing on all trips. Thank goodness, the afternoon trip was not a repeat of the morning where we saw good fishing and plenty of fish for all aboard.

    Capt. Ken Hager put Taylor Jean from Tinton Falls into a 72-pound white marlin on the first day, and that fish had them in line for over a million dollars until the last day when Waste Knot brought in a 75-pounder to take first and a payout of 796,509 while Taylor Jean was in the big Calcuttas and settled for a nice consolation of 217,665. Mike Reilly of Jersey City, Ben Silverman from Detroit, Kyle Holcomb of Philadelphia, and Tom Frazel from Chicago joined Ty in catching 100 fish including 15 fluke (5 keepers) up to 7 pounds, 65 sea bass, 6 sea robins, 2 bergalls, 3 blues, 2 stripers to 22 inches, 13 porgies to 13 inches, and 4 weakfish to 26 inches.

    It had to be expected after 3 days of Hell out in the Ocean. We will finish up Fluke fishing on Tuesday then start Porgy fishing on Wednesday this coming week, 7 30am till 2 30pm every day until the Striped Bass show up.
