I joined Capt. Hans Kaspersetz for a couple of hours of light tackle fluke fishing in the rivers, along with Ray Flagiello of Staten Island on Sheri Berri from Baker's Marina on the Bay in Highlands. Capt. Chris Di Stefano of Wall was aboard Frank Criscola's Crisdel from Brielle Yacht Club as they fished the Manasquan River Marlin Tuna Club Tournament without success.
Scott Leadbeater of Haddon Heights bailed out while fishing in Raritan Bay with his center console out of Atlantic Highlands when he got into surfacing 3-to-6-pound blues on light tackle as he moved toward West Bank. Capt. Stan Zagleski had catches up to four fluke on Thursday as Ken McGill of Atlantic Highlands won the pool with a 6 3 16-pounder.
Started out to 1 8 mile visibility of fog from inlet all the way to the canyon. With no visibility figured we were better off bottom fishing till fog cleared, hit a wreck and got a dozen baseball bat ling, then hit the tile grounds and landed a dozen golden and huge blue lines.
