The chance to get together with veterans of conservation wars of the past was too good to miss, so I sailed out with Tom Fote, Mark Taylor, Bruce Vitale, and Dr. Eleanor Bochenek as Capt. Chris ran to a wreck where mate Alex was constantly unhooking sea bass of all sizes. The BarbGail IV is a charter boat, but Capt. Chris takes individual reservations on other days.
Maybe a few showers tomorrow but it looks like they dropped the wind down to NE 10-15 knots. Make sure you have a rod and reel that can handle big fish 30 to 50 lbs.
Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. Both trips were pretty much the same. We fished in Sandy Hook Bay. We picked at the shorts and caught a few keeper fluke.
Not much has changed. Friday mornings trip was probably the best out of the last three days. with Saturday being the worst with the heavy rains and winds.
