Sep 15 2015 9 15 Big Porgies Today THIS WEEKS OPEN BOAT TRIPS PORGY FISHING- Wednesday 9 16, Friday 9 18 Sunday 9 20 at 7AM Yesterday we had out the guys from Nimble Storage. Today we had out our friends from Allied building and we headed in a different direction and we found bigger fish.
9-15-15 NIce breeze this morning gave us a decent drift,,picked some fish early, not good but everydrift we picked some fish,,eventually the drift and breeze let up and it was a struggle for most. although some guys caught some fish, and some nice ones. tomorrow looks really nice again,,Big pool is up to 3500 bucks and is still wide open.
We had some smaller fish early in the morning but then it was JURASSIC PARK BLUEFISHING a little later. The BLUES were in the 18 - 22 lb. range. With a lot of fish on top there was white water everywhere but they were hard to catch. We picked at them for a while and did manage to get some. They were all caught on jigs.
The past few days we have had a good sign of porgies with people catching two to twenty a man with a few fluke and black fish caught with them. Today it was slow with the porgies so we ended up going for ling and that action was a bit slow but some left with two to ten ling and a few cod and flounder also.
The Gambler has been fishing for fluke out to the Southeast a few miles this past week. On our fluke drifts we are also catching some small blues, mackerel, sea bass, sea robins, sand sharks and skates.
Bounced around the areas we have been fishing and managed okay action and keepers up to the 6 pound 11 ounce pool fish taken by Ron Becker, Springfield, NJ. Gulps spros have had the advantage with the bigger fish the past few trips.
