Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 11 11 December 2016 Capt. Tom Made our 3 4 day blackfishing trip again today. As of now the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday looks good so make your trip on one of those days.
Today we had a nice group of EB II blackfishers aboard on a very nice day with just a light breeze. We were able to sit on one drop all day and we picked and slugged away on the usual mix of keepers and shorts.
12-11-16 Nice day today but the fishing was not productive for us,made a few stops and had fish each place but never had any good bite working. Few times I managed to get a jig out and had a few fish easily but for most it was a tough day,I believe pool fish was taken on a jig to,any way tomorrow is canceled due to the high winds.
Though Capt. Jim Freda reported getting into school stripers from his boat on Saturday, the Golden Eagle from Belmar had no such luck today and is shutting down until after Christmas when mackerel may be on the menu. The Jamaica from Brielle had another fine offshore wreck trip with many limits of jumbo sea bass on Saturday.
With the amount of fish under the boat, we should have caught hundreds, but we were only able to catch a few stripers a drift. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Atlantic Highlands blackfishing 10 10 December 2016 Capt. Tom We did not fish yesterday due the strong winds but we made our 3 4 day blackfishing trip today. It was still a bit windy today but it was not rough.
