April 16 -- AM PM Trips Sunday, 17 April 2016 21 06 Written by Capt. Derek AM - This mornings open boat trip saw a pick of bass, boxing our under 43 limit with fish to 20 lbs.
We saw a lot more fish today than the past few days, they didn't bite the way we saw them but at least some of them ended up in the boat. The weather for the next several days looks great and as more more fish keep moving into the area the STRIPER fishing should continue to improve.
(Friday) Today we had a charter for Jim and his friends for a day of Bass fishing. (Sunday) Today was a open boat Tog trip and it was tough fishing for us with the big heave and dirty water where we were fishing.
We had some interesting fishing (more about that later in the week), before I drove up to Islamorada to fish for tarpon Friday evening out of Bud Mary's Marina with old friend and retired marina owner Richard Stanczyk the pioneer of daytime swordfishing. As I was fighting that tarpon, Stanczyk noted that there must be an accident on the bridge as everything was stopped.
