Made my first 2015 try at clamming up a bay bass, but the blues kept finding the clams. Had one on that I was sure was a nice bass but turned out to be a 12 blue that forgot to run all over the place like a crazed coyote.
Great to see and we will be targeting drum exclusively over the next couple weeks until sea bass opens. As the tide slacked, we made a move for the other tide and had a nice bite as the tide got rolling boxing five more bass and missing pulling the hook on several more.
The guys worked the lures and baits today and managed to land 9 keepers to around 22 lbs and a bunch of blues. cmp shareicontextlink hover background url( static. ak. facebook. com images share facebook share icon. gif 6 26981) no-repeat 1px 1px ECEEF5 !
Wasn't really good enough so we went into search mode looking for a better bite with some bass. Ran way to the West where we had good fishing over the weekend. .No bites, No readings a desert to say the least. At 2 30, I decided to give it one last shot and took another ride to a whole new area.
The past couple days' catches have been between 5 and 15 Ling and we are also still catching some nice Cod. Wayne Nelson was out yesterday with 13 nice Ling and 2 Cod, one of which was the pool winner at 10 lbs.
