We picked at some Ling, few small Cod, few keeper Cod and some Blackfish (which went back to catch again next year). We did see a few Bluefish show up out there today so hopefully when we start night fishing next weekend they will still be there.
If you plan on buying a new set up and you plan on coming out for bass, bluefish, fluke and porgies look into getting a spinning rod and reel to make life a lot easier on yourself. They are the best because you can cast them easier, no birds nest and you need to cast away from the boat when we are fishing for the bass and bluefish plus if you want to snag bunker, use a jig or bucktail it is so much better using a spinning rod.
Atlantic Highlands stripe bass fishing May 9 09 May 2015 Capt. Tom WE have been sailing everyday making both morning (8am) and afternoon (1 30) trips the past few days. WE will be sailing both trips tomorrow (Mother's Day).
We had a weird under current and strange drift first thing in the morning, but once that squared itself away it was game on with drop and reel fishing on goldens to 25 pounds and a good amount of blue line tile in the mix, too. It was an awesome day with beautiful weather, great fishing, and an excellent bunch of guys! Thanks for everything guys - the food was great, too!See ya soon!
