Bad weather today resulted in lots of cancellations, but many boats will be back at it on Wednesday. They also noted that there was a striper blitz at Gillikin's in Island Beach State Park the previous afternoon as school bass were chasing peanut bunkers onto the beach.
We covered a lot of ocean on yesterday s trip and the one thing that impressed me the most was the amount of bunker we spotted all inside the 3 mile line. The ironic thing is we fished this same location on both of our last two trips and never got a bite or saw anything that would indicate stripers were present but yesterday was different story and good to see some boats did well.
Well some of the guys got into some real nice Togs again today,Hugh took home the pool with a Jumbo that went between 11-12 pounds, after we confirmed he won the pool he let the big female go to live another day,Nice Job Hugh,as in previous days to we busted off some real big fish as well,Just could not stop em and they got shaved off. The guys that were on there game today caught a limit of Togs, some had 3-4 etc.
Conditions weren't great on the anchor but the guys picked away at really nice fish. If you were fishing today u prob heard us when it hit the deck, Tommy lost a monster but was happy with all the other fish he got .
December 1, 2014 Monday report The ocean was fairly flat, with practically no wind, we had a north tide with a south ground swell, anchoring was a concern today. Tomorrow we are staying in port due to the weather and NE winds.
