Nevertheless, The SEA STAR III will still sail DAILY at 9AM for Stripers. Also, as I have just sold the first Holiday Gift Card this weekend, I wanted to remind ALL of you that SEA STAR III Gift Cards AND T-Shirts make GREAT Gifts!
Joe Melillo, at Castaway's Tackle in Point Pleasant, weighed several surf stripers from Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Gerald CeCe of Point Pleasant plugged two of 12 1 2 and 19 1 2 pounds in Bay Head.
It seems the large schools have not made it south of Wildwood and the million dollar question is will they stay out in the open ocean or will they enter the Delaware Bay We should have an answer within the next week or so after this cold front passes which will lower water temperatures and should result in more stripers showing up off South Jersey and Delaware. Unfortunately for those who prefer chunking, 2014 is starting to look a lot like last fall when most of the larger stripers stayed out of the bay in the open ocean where trolling proved exceptional for us.
There was no love for us today as we worked 3 or 4 schools and all we got was a couple of run offs and that was it for the Snag Drop portion of the trip. It was a nice calm day on the ocean but not enough Bass to go around.
