It seemed that up down the beach the STRIPERS took the day off, we saw the fish readings but no bites. Everything looks good for tomorrow and the next several days, so come on down and join us for a nice day of fishing.
The word he got from other skippers Saturday afternoon is that Raritan Bay stripers weren't responding to trolling as they had been lately. Just the day before, Capt. John Kolias had started his charter season with Reel Fun from Twin Lights Marina in Highlands as the Bob Kagan party enjoyed that boat's best opener in 13 years by limiting with four bass over 20 pounds plus six releases from 7 45 to 10 a. m.
Lots of bird life bait fish readings, we even had fish following the jigs to the boat, but it was tough getting them to bite. We tried a lot of spots today with the same results but we gave it a good effort.
