    Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 23 23 July 2016 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips again today and again we had a nice breeze on the water. We had more keepers on the afternoon trip than the morning plus more action with the shorts.

    In the morning we had mostly short fluke , also we had a slow drift, we had the wind into the tide. We gave the group an extra hour of fishing time, to make up for the slow drift in the morning.

    Capt. Stan Zagleski said he had a good drift with his Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands that produced decent action including enough keepers that almost everyone went home with a catch. Vinnie D'Anton of Shark River Hills said there was a good shot of action early in Shark River with small stripers and some blues on his Chug Bug.

    FLUKE- We have been fishing a few areas depending on the conditions. Pool fish the last few trips have been between 3lbs to 6lbs and we have seen a limit or 2 on most trips.

    There were no party boat reports from Raritan Bay today, but Capt. Hans Kaspersetz said he boated a 33-inch fluke on his Sheri Berri from Twin Lights Marina in Highlands. The Cock Robin from Point Pleasant noted the lack of mackerel, but small blues are filling in -- and cownose rays have shown up to provide excitement.
