I heard there were stripers in a specific area a couple days ago, but it is like I tell you when you call and ask, How was the fishing today What happens today is not an indication of what will be tomorrow. A couple of days can make all the difference when it comes to fishing.
No matter, we turned our attention a bit shallower and finished up the day fishing for trigger fish and put a nice box of 21 triggers including some big slabs in the box!September 16, 2014Jay, Jim, Pat, Ron, Don, and Chuck were aboard today for an open boat fluke trip. Fishing was very steady throughout the trip with the best keeper to throwback ratio of the year and the guys put a boat limit of fluke together in short order with fish to 7 plus pounds!

The surf was pretty ugly today, but Joe Melillo of Castaways Tackle in Point Pleasant said there are small stripers in Manasquan River and blackfish in the canal. Bob Matthews, at Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina, had heard of the big stripers caught Friday by Bob Lake on a bunker school off Manasquan Inlet, but noted that bass were both small and few in the surf.

At night some fall Striped Bass are starting to eat.
All the reports of patience, the bait is here, when the water get's colder, the NW winds all that stuff. Well, it's certainly no different this season as the water temps are still 63 degrees, the air temp is Florida like, the bait is here and the fish are not!!
