December 4, 2014 Thursday report Nice day on the water. Today was a slower day of fishing, we moved around to different depths of water, some drops we active and others drops we empty, we fished in depths from 29 ft. to 78 ft. of water.
Capt. Rob Semkewyc reported good news about striper jigging yesterday as he got into lots of life with his Sea Hunter from Atlantic Highlands, and many bass were jigged before everything went dead about 11 30. The Jamaica II reported a sluggish trip last Friday with only ling on deep wrecks, but Saturday's 24-hour trip was excellent with big sea bass and porgies plus a few cod and pollock.
Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 3 03 December 2014 Capt. Tom We did not fish yesterday or today due to the weather but tomorrow looks like a better day. We sail at 7 30 am returning between 2 30 and 3 pm from the Atlantic Highlands marina.
We caught some fish to,nothing great,a pic at times,dogfish were a pain in the butt to but some of the guys caught a limit plus of blackfish,some had a few or three etc. some guys had it tough and were sharking all day but it overall I though it was ok.
The Jamaica has room on its offshore wreck trip for jumbo sea bass at 10 p. m. Wednesday. Bob Matthews, at Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina reports several regulars at the ,shop did a blackfish trip yesterday on Parker Pete's that worked out well.
