Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 31 31 August 2014 Capt. Tom WE have been sailing everyday making both trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina. We had no limits today but Terry and tire John were able to catch keepers apiece on the afternoon trip .
3-lb fluke and another great day for Ren Noticy of Barnegat Light, NJ, who won with a big 7. Also we have another lucky, I mean skillful, angler who won the pool, Kenny D of Philadelphia, PA with a nice 5-lber on Saturday and also Dennis Haney of Lumberton, NJ won with a 5.
8 31 Fluke Report Tuesday, 02 September 2014 17 19 Written by Capt. Jack Hey Gang,Today was another great day on the fluke grounds. For the 8th day in a row plenty of keepers and non stop action with the shorts.
Very little wind gave us good drifting conditions for much of the day. Young Lee, Palisades Park, NJ, took the pool with an 8 pound 9 ounce BEAUTY which beat out Ronnie Neira, Old Bridge, NJ, who had a very nice 7 pound 8 ounce fish of his own!
FLUKEWATCH 14 August Edition Get ready for the one of the greatest happenings in all of salt water fishing The final day of the 2014 August Flukemaster Classic Championship. On the seventh drift of the day, Doug Kay, or The Duke as he is affectionately known in the fishing world, tipped his hook with a 6 New Penny Gulp Grub and dropped it 42 feet to the bottom of the reef.
When drifting conditions were right Fluke fishing was very good this week, lots of smaller fish mid week and bigger Fluke and Jumbo Seabass this weekend as the swells settled Bucktailing is still the most productive method with teaser above bucktail tipped with 4 or 5 Gulp swim mullet any color. Fluking NOW is rough bottom and this weekend we fished most around wrecks 5,6, and 7 pounders were pretty common so if you caught a limit you had a lot of pounds of meat.
