Lots of action today for Tom and Gary DeFranco, but still had to wade through a load of shorts to put a few fluke to 23 into the box. Also had a number of quality (and lucky) sea bass to 18 that had to go back, an unlucky mackerel that sacrificed himself for three nice keeper fluke, and more skates than I want to count.
Average catches of 10 to 25 were common with the Ling Cod and Flounder. Tony DeBacco was out twice this week and had 21 Ling, his limit of Flounder and three nice sized Cod up to 10lbs which was the pool winner!
We had a mix of shorts and keepers with some nice fish and a beautiful 9 pounder caught by Tweet Tran from Matawan, NJ taking the pool as well as having a total of 4 keepers. Bob lost a big fish on the way up as well but recovered and ended up with two nice keepers.
Mike lives in Florida and is in NJ visiting family but before he went home he wanted to give Fluke Bucktailing a try something that none of them did before. Spots are available for our Open Boat Fluke trips on Aug. 24th, 25th, 26th 28th.
Kenny had four nice keepers today,Hugh had three. some others scattered around the boat with shorts mixed in so a bit better again,,swell is gone finally so we are looking good for tomorrow and the weekend!!See ya tomorrow.
