Sunday night's far offshore wreck trip produced a sea bass limit for Jack Aydelotte of Harrisburg, Pa. plus 10 porgies, seven blues, and a pool-winning 10-pound pollock. The Jamaica II was into lots of jumbo porgies during Wednesday's bottom fishing trip, along with some sea bass and a few cod.
Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 24 24 December 2015 Capt. Tom Made our 3 4 day blackfishing trip today leaving at 7 30 am. We will not be fishing tomorrow (Christmas day) but we will be fishing everyday next week (weather permitting) including New Years Day.
It turned out to be an active day of fishing, we had some quality togs come over the rail. Merry Christmas to our friends and customers, thanks for fishing with us.
After two brutal winters that shut surf fishing down early, we were hoping for better during a mild winter that is keeping water temperatures in the 50s. Jay Amberg reports from Sea Girt that the waters are beautiful, but there's no sign of bait or stripers in the surf.
December 22, 2015 12-22-15 On our first stop this morning, a 7 lb. 8 oz. a black fish came over the rail, we had a steady pick at the fish most of the morning, we moved around, it was a combo of keepers and shorts giving you action.
12 22 15 Except for a little rain the second half of the trip it was a nice day to be on the blackfish grounds. A couple of first timers took a while to learn the bite but several of our blackfish regulars ended up with their limits up to 7 pounds.
