Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 15 15 August 2014 Capt. Tom WE have been making both morning and afternoon trips everyday from the Atlantic Highlands marina. On the trips where the conditions were not good the fishing was tough.
Had a lack of drift with wind against the tide for a good part of the day in a carbon copy of yesterday. Pretty decent short action with a few keepers mixed in on each drift for the last part of the day in tough conditions.
especially around lunchtime but most of the day we had some keepers coming up. Some guys ended well with 3-4 nice keepers, some 1-2,some people had a tough day and only had shorts or maybe some sea bass but overall for a nice crowd we had some nice fish, pool fish was nice, about 8lbs.
The morning trip today was very good with a good amount of keepers and shorts. The afternoon was not as good the water was fine it was just that we had lots of wind,Definitely more then was in the forecast and the drift was extremely fast and that's not good.
