We had a nice group fishing with us today, started out with a pick at the togs, as we moved around we had a similar condition , you had to work at it, to bring the togs over the rail, the shorts were also active today. Some nice quality fish came over the rail, some had 4-5 keepers.

Yet, there was a sudden rush to the beaches in the Seaside Park area today after Betty Nick's Tackle in that town posted reports of big bass in the surf this morning. The bonus tags helped tremendously, and I am hoping they keep the program going. The NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife started by giving us 50 tags for the entire fall so I was pretty stingy with them, but by November they were very short of their poundage quota so they started giving them to the Party and Charter boats as we needed them. I know that lots of you this year signed up late, and it took 3 weeks to a month to get the tag so if they keep the program going and they use the same mailing system don't hesitate to sign up because you may not get your tag in time (I'm not sure how many they are going to give the Party and Charter boats to start).

When the conditions finally came together we sat still and picked away at nice keepers for the rest of the day. The charter finished up with 32 keepers for the day with super short action as well.

Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) kicked off the final phase of a massive beach replenishment project from Sea Bright to Manasquan last week. Despite the ecological damage involved, there was no way to stop the project involving 86,722,210 in Sandy aid federal funding as broad beaches are important to Shore communities.
