Some of the group had 3-4 nice keepers others had less and some had empty coolers The pool winner was a 10 lb. At the end of the day the bite got aggressive, we stood out fishing for an extra hour, to give the group more fishing time , see you in the morning, we leave at 7 30 am.
I took Luis Gonzalez of Homestead, Florida down to the Sea Girt surf after the early afternoon high tide and released a 19-incher on a 6-inch Tsunami Sand Eel while Gonzalez had another small bass miss the same lure. Bob Matthews, at Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina, also reported there were some small bass hitting in the Monmouth County surf.
Started where we left them biting Monday but only had a couple of fish. Made a couple of more stops with a few fish on each before moving off to some deeper water where we had our best action with keepers and shorts to finish the day.
12-26-14 Flat calm, really nice out there today, good to be back out after a break in the action for a few days. Alot of short bites today as well made it even harder, fish were hitting the bait and then just leaving it alone, alot of fish were also just nipping the baits off the hook and not giving you a good bite to swing at.
