12-22-14 We had a decent day today,I will have some pics up later,Pauly won the pool with a 9lb. not something that I would usually cancel in but given its the day before Christmas Eve and I have a chance to hang with the family and stuff I think we will pass for tomorrow.
Fishing was slow early, but moving around a bit really helped as we found some nice pockets of fish at times and finished with a limit of sea bass to 5 pounds hitting the box and the average size to the fish being quite nice. Lots of nice fish came over the rail and a great day was had by all!December 6Shawn, Traci, Joe, Tom, Terry, and Tom were aboard The Bomb today for an open boat striper trip.
Not too many Ling yet, should see them soon, but still some honker Porgies, Seabass and a good showing of nice size Codfish. Pool winner was Jaesung Lee Dumont NJ 21 lb Cod Dom Nguyen Phila 4 Cod (8-10 pounders) 1 Pollock and 12 Porgies Jerry and Jeff Shelton Cape May 6 Cod to 17 lbs and 23 Porgies Greg Cooke Westfield 2 Cod to 15 lbs 7 Seabass to 5 1 2 lbs and some Chops Ed Borkowski Bayonne 2 nice Cod a Purple Hake 13 Porgies Bass a few Ling Smattering of Ling around the boat overall not a bad day - some hefty Pout showing fortunately the big congers(silver) were not as plentiful
Indeed, the Jamaica from Brielle has room on the trip sailing to far offshore wrecks for jumbo sea bass at 10 p. m. Monday. Those trips will continue after Christmas up to the Dec. 31 end of the sea bass season.
We already know of guys coming down tomorrow (Monday) so come join them and get some fish for Christmas eve day dinner!As of right now Wednesday's forecast is not looking good--we will let you know on Tuesday--and we DO NOT sail Christmas Day.
