August 9th, 2014 Tonight, we had super fishing again east of the inlet as everybody caught their fair share of fish. Once it got good, it stayed that way all night and the fish ranged anywhere from 8 - 15 pounds.
At least that was the case in the bluefin tuna fleet Joe Reap took his Reaper from Manasquan offshore at 4 a. m., and we did get lucky once in the morning when I was trolling the big Boston Whaler east from the Reasor area. A very surprising report came from the Golden Eagle out of Belmar as they got into 8-to-10-pound blues on both bait and jigs.
3-lb fluke (he has been a customer of the CAIII for over 40 years, with his wife Clare), also lightning strikes with Bob Nolan of Ship Bottom, NJ, who wins with a nice 4-lber, and the good Teddy Alves of the north, Mt. Holly, NJ, takes it all with a nice 3. Also one special afternoon we had Tom Miller of Medford, NJ win with a nice 4-lber and Ren Nocity of Barnegat Light, NJ with a 6-lber.
