    07 04 14 We were the only 3 4 day boat on Raritan Bay today. Greg Barnett, Trenton, NJ, took the pool with a VERY NICE 7 pound 4 ounce fish which was one of his three keepers on the day.

    7-4-14 The rain held off until late in the day,and the ocean was pretty calm even though we had strong storm offshore of us. The drift early on was managable and we had a few keepers early in the day but the current started ripping us along so it stopped the bite and we did not catch much after that.

    The 33rd annual 2-Day Sandy Hook Bay Anglers Fluke Tournament will be held at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor on July 12 and 13 -- after the July 11, 7 p. m. captains meeting in the Senior Citizens Building. Though Capt. Chris De Stefano said they wasted a lot of time Saturday fighting a blue marlin for two hours on 80-pound tackle in Hudson Canyon when that species didn't count in the Manasquan River Marlin Runa Club's Jack Meyer Memorial Tuna Trolling Tournament, Frank Criscola's Crisdel is leading the contest with a 135-pound bigeye boated Monday when his son Michael took the boat further south.

    what more could one ask for Jim Lohse, Union, NJ, ended up with four nice fish up to 5 pounds 7 ounces and tied for the pool with Matt Dalton, Mt. Olive, NJ, who also had an identical 5 pound 7 ounce fish as part of his catch. We ARE planning on fishing tomorrow and already know of guys coming down!!

    I like the forecast for tomorrow. Today I am off but the boat has a pool fish about 5-6lbs as of earlier this morning and some other nice keepers so fish are chewing.
