Indeed, the Jamaica from Brielle has room on the trip sailing to far offshore wrecks for jumbo sea bass at 10 p. m. Monday. Those trips will continue after Christmas up to the Dec. 31 end of the sea bass season.
We already know of guys coming down tomorrow (Monday) so come join them and get some fish for Christmas eve day dinner! As of right now Wednesday's forecast is not looking good--we will let you know on Tuesday--and we DO NOT sail Christmas Day.
12-21-14 We pretty much had similar conditions to yesterday, flat calm, north tide again and a pick at the fish. Lots of small fish again and you had to weed through to get some keepers,Some did not, some did,I do wish the bite was a little better for more of the people onboard,Hopefully tomorrow we see some of the bigger fish chewing,High hooks had 5 keeper togs, and pool fish was only around 4-5 lbs,but it was worth a nice amount!!!
Made 2 drops today, the first drop we caught a bunch of shorts and only a couple of keepers. High hook had a limit plus of nice blackfish, most had 1 to 5 keepers and a few could only get shorts but everyone caught fish.
Joe Melillo noted from Castaways Tackle in Point Pleasant that no one had any reports of school stripers in the surf either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. They have 12-hour trips at 5 a. m. for cod, pollock and ling on Dec. 29, 30 and 31.
