Our high hook today was four keepers, others had three fluke, and some had 1-2 keeper fluke, others had short fluke only, the fluke were there, but the drift slowed fishing. Call Capt. Ron 732-977-2020 or E Mail us.
07 30 2014 Paul had the Jim Vertes charter on board today. Switching over to the Blues was not much better as the charter worked hard to put just over a dozen in the box along with several Mackeral which we kept for bait.
Snapper blues have invaded the surf, which is good news for those planning to use them as bait for large fluke -- or bad news for those trying to fish soft baits. The 4-to-6-inch snappers can be fished alive, but John Mazzeo of South Plainfield used a snapper fillet to hook a 20-inch fluke.
