August 25, 2014 Monday report Today we had lot more life on most drifts, we had a nice drift of . No jumbo fluke today but we had nice quality keeper fluke, and as usual the short fluke kept you busy around the rail.
Joe Melillo, at Castaways Tackle in Point Pleasant, said there's still weed in the lrough surf, but blackfishing on crabs has been good in the northern end of Point Pleasant Canal -- and triggerfish were also reported there on Sunday. Bob Matthews, at Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina, says rough seas resulted in many anglers staying in Shark River, where fluking was good up to a 6 7 8-pounder on a live snapper.
