We couldn't repeat Sundays great fishing with big Fluke and limits this week but we are still catching very well. Another thing is constant bouncing of the sinker, not big bounces but 4 to 6 inches off the bottom at a time just enough to give the bait little a jumping motion.
We went out east and caught a mix of blues, albies and bonito on nice long drifts. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Capt. Dave De Gennaro reports bonito are in seasonal form at Barnegat Ridge for trollers, with the only problem being all the small bluefish also feeding there on large quantities of small sand eels. Fluking has been a mixed bag, but Tank Matraxia of Lyndhurst was happy with what he experienced today at Sandy Hook Reef with Capt. Kevin Cole from Brown's in Keyport.
Oh yes, we had some decent days last week fishing, a lot of short fish, but some real nice keepers mixed in. 8-lber (nice to see you back, Mike), also Mike Villanova of Waretown, NJ took half of that money (Mike and Mike tied!)
