Toward the DEP's goal of ensuring a sustainable summer flounder fishery, the DEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife launched a campaign to educate the fishing public on how to reduce discard mortality by safely releasing summer flounder that do not meet minimum size requirements.

    Overall pretty slow pickings on quality size Yellowfins where we fished on Monday. We had 14 total Yellowfins but only 3 keeper size ones so at least everyone on board did take home some nice tuna for the table.

    Started off slow for us with 1 under bft on the troll around 30#. Found the fish on top and the guys had a blast landing another 6 unders to 35# and a nice yellowfin around 55#.

    Yesterday morning, and this morning, we had real good fishing once again for sea bass, ling, and fluke. There were a lot of keeper sea bass, a few fluke and some short and keeper sea bass.

    Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we did not have good drifting conditions and we only caught a few shorts and keepers. On the afternoon trip the drifting conditions were better. We had a little better short action and ended the trip with more keepers (fluke) than we have been catching.
