    Today's hard south wind made for tough conditions when I sailed at 2 p. m. with Chuck Many of Annandale on his Ty Man from Gateway Marina in Highlands. There was lots of bait in the surf when I cast at Bay Head this morning, but there didn't seem to be anything on them, Just before leaving I landed a 16 1 4-inch striper that hit Run-Off's new rainfish metal.

    Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing September 12 12 September 2016 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we fished the areas in Sandy Hook bay where we had been fishing but today was not good.

    Nick Honachefsky has had shots at them in his local surf at various times of day around Normandy Beach, but they are chasing very small bait and wouldn't hit his Deadly Dick or a Williamson jig. Allen Riley of South Plainfield checked the surf from Sandy Hook to Monmouth Beach at mid-morning and didn't see any signs of little tunny.
