Posted on April 13, 2020April 13, 2020 First bluefish report The Fischers not only caught stripers in the river yesterday from their boat in Highlands, but also added the first two bluefish I ve heard of so far. Phil said they caught at least 20 stripers up a 15-pounder.
The marine forecast is only for showers, but land-based forecasts are predicting heavy morning rain along with thunderstorms. A storm warning has been posted for Monday, and south winds are already predicted to gust to 30 knots this afternoon before blowing at 30-40 knots in the morning plus gusts to 50 and 10-15-foot seas.
Posted on April 11, 2020 Manhattan Cup postponed to next year Along with the Olympics and many other events we were looking forward to, the 20th Manhattan Cup has been postponed to next year due to the pandemic. The winds calmed down somewhat today, but it was cold.

Posted on April 10, 2020 More events pushed back All sorts of events have been pushed back, due to the pandemic, in hopes that they can be conducted later in the year. While talking with Tom Fote of the JCAA today, he noted that the Governor s Surf Fishing Tournament has been pushed back from May to Oct. 25.
