Best Fluke Fishing Rods Review for 2017

With New Jersey Fluke season upon us now is a good time to review the best Fluke rods.  In order to keep the budget reasonable we only consider Fluke rods under $275.

In general we looked for rods that are capable of bouncing 3 to 4 ounce bucktails in deep water as well as dragging lead up to 8-10 ounces.  All of the rods are 7' in length with Medium Heavy power and fast action.

 St. Croix Avid VIC7MHF

St. Croix is well known for building outstanding saltwater fishing rods.  This beauty is strong, but sensitive and flexible enough to make playing a fish fun.  You will feel every bump, smack and pick up.  The Workmanship is outstanding and the feel of the rod is just great in the hands.

Starting with SCIII graphite blanks and St. Croix's exclusive IPC® technology, this rod is super light, hypersensitive to strikes and finished with premium-grade components including a high grade cork handle, Fuji ECS reel seat, and 2 coats of a flex coat slow cure finish to protect the rod in the harsh saltwater environment.

Included is a 15 year transferable warranty.

 G Loomis Pro Blue 11503-01

G Loomis has been building quality rods ever since Gary Loomis founded the company over 3 decades ago.  Even though he has since sold the company to Shimano, they continue to make outstanding fishing rods.  The Pro Blue series is no exception.  Tremendously powerful for the weight, this rod will easily allow you to drift heavy sinkers on those days when the drift it just too fast to bucktail effectively.  A bit more expensive than the St. Croix Avid this is your go to rod if you are typically fishing deep, around structure, or prefer to drag bait.

This rod  has a cork handle, heavy-duty Fuji reel seat and premium Fuji guides.

G. Loomis rods are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against non-conformities in workmanship and materials for the life of the original owner

Lamiglas TFX7030C Tri-Flex Graphite

Not as well known to the masses as St. Croix and G. Loomis but Lamiglas builds one heck of a fishing rod.  This rod is a composite of 2 parts graphite and 1 part fiberglass. This design results in incredible power and strength, while maintaining the natural bend of fiberglass.

A cork handle and Fuji guides provide quality construction.  Included is a limited lifetime warranty.
