10/26/16: The Carolyn Ann lll lost fishing on Saturday and Sunday due to weather, but we did sail Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We were disappointed with the amount of keeper-size fish due to the size limit change to 13 inches. If it were 12.5, like in the spring, we would have had a lot more keepers! We also had to deal with a lot of spiny dogfish, which are a real nuisance. Now on Wednesday afternoon, the wind finally died out, and we had a charter with the MATES school, and had some real good fishing. A nice mix of big and small porgies and some keeper sea bass and a few triggerfish. Also some blackfish. We will see that spot again very soon!
The boat will be sailing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Except on Wednesday November 16; we will be sailing on that day for the opening of blackfish.
Don’t put your fishing gear away just yet, there are plenty of beautiful days this fall to fish. See you at sea!
