Captain's Focus

Bad weather kept the fleet in port during today's opening of the blackfish season, but the forecast for Sunday is good. Though most party boats will be seeking blackfish, the Golden Eagle from Belmar will be searching for the elusive mackerel -- with cod as the alternative. Capt. Jim O'Grady will be at the helm as the Cock Robin from Point Pleasant was sold -- and will be sailing out of Belmar this season as the Capt. Cal III. Discolored waters from all the rain will probably be a problem for anglers seeking stripers in Raritan Bay, but they should clear with a few tide changes.
