Striped Bass Fishing Season Kicks Off with 50 Pounder!
The boat is now in Cape May and started fishing yesterday. First fish in the boat a 50 pounder (see below)!
We are docked at South Jersey Marina, on charter boat row. 1231 New Jersey 109 Cape May, NJ 08204 (609) 884-2400. As you come into Cape may and pass the marina, on your left, there is a row of boats, right along the street (before the ships store). We are one of the first boats on that row. Parking is just at the end of Charter boat row (north side).
We are fishing JUSTIFIED, our 48â?? Sportfish, which is fully geared up with tackle, but if you want to bring your own tackle, no problem. Please let the crew know the day before the trip when you touch base with them. We ask you to contact Joe, or Hook, the day before your trip to confirm last minute details, do a double check on the weather, etc.
As far as what to bringâ?¦.appropriate clothing is the most important thing. Rubber boats are great. Black soled hunting boots are NOT please. Gloves, hats, etc are a good ideaâ?¦it can be blustery and chilly out there on November. The cabin is fully heated, has a microwave and coffee maker. Please bring whatever youâ??d like to eat and drink for your trip and a cooler for taking fish home. Fish cleaning and packaging services are typically available at South Jersey Marina.
Trips are 5 or 8 hours, depending on what you have booked. If we do NOT have both 5 hour trips booked the day you are fishing, you may be able to extend your 5 hour trip into an 8 hour trip. Please discuss this with the captain the night before you go. Once we change our clocks back this weekend, departure times are typically 6am and 12pm for the 5 hour trips, and 7am for the 8 hour trip.
We are primarily chunking in the Bay for the big Bass. On occasion, when the fishing is slow in the Bay or weather dictates otherwise, we will fish the rips and/or troll the ocean side. Again, the crew can give you the heads up on whatâ??s going on and what are plan is for fishing. On the rare occasion we fish the rips, we include a dozen live spot as part of the trip. Extra live bait can be secured ahead of time at your request.
Below you will find directions to South Jersey Marina and a link to their web-site. Also you will find our Striped Bass Crewâ??s contact info. Please contact Capt. Joe with any questions, and if for any reason you canâ??t get him, feel free to contact Tyler or Hook. Tyler primarily fishes weekends during November. I will be away for the majority of the next 2 weeks and have limited access to voicemail and email.
Tight Lines and catch em up,
Trey
