Fall Fishing - Pack Your Bags!
There is little doubt that Fall offers some of, if not the best, all-around fishing up and down the East coast. Seasonal changes in weather patterns cause significant ocean temperature variations, which in turn result in pelagic migrations. While these weather changes tend to wreak havoc on our ability to get offshore in the Northeast, they have relatively little to no affect on us in Florida or when fishing inshore in the Delaware Bay for striped bass. October and November often will typically offer some of the best fishing opportunities, in waters devoid of much boat traffic. 'This is truly an awesome time to go fishing, as most folks are busy recovering from Summer time vacations and busy getting back to work. Often times, you'll have the ocean to yourself, especially in Florida and the Bahamas. Fall fishing is just coming into its own, and the inshore waters in the NE are coming alive, while the fishing in Florida is off the charts. Few if anyone we know is currently fishing in the Bahamas (we will start in a few weeks), although from the limited reports we are hearing, the wahoo are biting, and as this first cold front of the fall season rolls through, it will no doubt turn on in earnest. We'd encourage anyone looking at planning future fishing trips to give the Fall serious consideration, as unfortunately, the majority of folks, just can't get away. For those who can, limit catches and great memories are yours for the taking!

New Jersey/Bahamas Fishing Report |
Bahamas Season Starting, New Jersey Still Going Strong!!!
Well another week of NE winds have hampered our offshore fishing in NJ this week. We continue to monitor another eddy that is filtering into our local canyons that is holding yellowfin and longfin. We are currently waiting on a sat shot when the weather clears, but assume that the 71 degree water is somewhere near the Lindy. A positive note on the cold Noreasters up here in NJ is this typically marks the beginning of our Bahamas wahoo fishery. As seen last year when we had great wahoo fishing at the end of October and November throughout the Bahamas. On the first cold front that rips through the Bahamas we tend to see a 4 to 6 degree temperature drop that starts plummeting the water temps from the 80's to the 70's. This gets the hoos stirring and will start to see better fishing with each passing front. We are planning to have a boat over in Treasure Cay shortly for the upcoming bite.
Striper Fishing Starting!!!
On another note, the striper fishery is right around the corner as we are hearing great reports from Montauk all the way to Long Beach Island. It is just a matter of days now before we start seeing a good bit of fish in the Avalon/Cape May area. We will be fishing this year's striper fishery in both Avalon and Cape May with trolling, drifting and chunking trips available. Once tog season opens we will also offer striper/tog combo trips for any of those interested. Tog are already starting to filter in the nearshore wrecks with temps starting to fall.
This week we are FINALLY going to get in some offshore trips to the edge as the weather looks good throughout the week . We will be doing a lot of open boat trips so feel free to sign up. We will be going on a lot of these trips on one days notice depending on the weather windows.

| Yes, back in the Keys and just in time too!! Well things are already in full swing down here. The Sailfish are biting and the bait life is plentiful. The reef edge is full of life also. The King’s are biting as well as the Big Mangrove snappers. The Yellowtails are snapping and there are even some Cobias around and the Jacks are all over the wrecks. There are cigar minnows and Pilchards everywhere, as well as a small start of Ballyhoos moving in on the inshore patches. We start fishing this week and we can’t wait. We will be running a fall special for those of you that might want to take advantage of some very good fall fishing, so come on down and get out of the COLD!!!! Give me a shout! Thanks!

Key West Fishing Report |
Cobia and Snapper Fishing continues to be good
With our first cold front of the year, our already spectacular fishing for cobia, yellowtail and mutton snapper should continue to improve. This week, we had Key West locals Paulie Depoo along with friends Dale Emily and his 13-year-old son Victor out for a couple of days of light tackle fishing. They managed to limit on cobia and put a 15-pound mutton snapper in the boat. This fishing should continue to get better and better with more and bigger cobia showing up on the Gulf wrecks north of our island city. There have actually been so many that we've been able to shoot some video hand feeding them and we're hoping to get that edited and up on the site later in the week.
We've been seeing a few sailfish off the reef and that should continue to improve as well. Blackfin tuna fishing is just starting to get underway on the Atlantic side, and a few wahoo have been reported as well. Most of that activity is coming to those taking the time to catch live pilchards in the shallows, then anchor and chum on some of the deeper Atlantic wrecks.
Speaking of wahoo, we've got a limited number of days available during the second and third week of December to specifically target wahoo on our light tackle boats. If you're interested in chasing them (with double digit days possible), please contact us for more details.

Massachusetts Fishing Report |
Justified has just finished her first week up in Hyannis, Massachusetts Giant Bluefin Tuna Fishing. Unfortunately, we have not put one on the deck yet, but we will! We arrived last Friday afternoon and our first day of fishing was on Sunday the 11th. The weather has limited us to only 3 days of fishing so far. We have one short (65' bluefin) and one 250# Thresher Shark to show for our efforts. Monday we fished the Figs and had marks all over the screen. We watched two local boats hook up right next to us, but couldn't get a bite ourselves. We are not discouraged though! Local knowledge is a large part of the game, as with most fishing locations ...our day will come. During the blow days we've met some very helpful people providing really great information. We've met so many people, it's almost overwhelming!!!

The Fleet is large and impressive here. Everyone is making short drifts in the same area. Fishing is very tight, yet everyone gets along and works well together. We've heard reports of thousand pounders being taken so the fish are big here!!! On Thursday there were not many fish caught, although we did hear of one that dressed 850 pounds. Much of the fleet was surprised that the drop in pressure, ahead of this front, didn't have the fish chewing.
Now with a full blown Nor'easter upon us, we'll have to wait for the next break in the weather

Bahamas Wahoo Checklist

Well, it's that time of year again. Time to start dusting off all the Wahoo tackle that is all pretty dedicated and specialized to only one type of fishing, BAHAMAS WAHOO! Over the next few weeks, we'll be loading up and heading over to the Bahamas, and Wahoo Fishing will be the primary offshore focus.Word is that the fish are already showing up on the western side of the Bahamas. We are due our first cold front of the year here in S. Florida this weekend, which should help to drop the water temperatures and bring the fish our way in a hurry. For those that are curious or like to do a bit of Wahoo Fishing on their own boats, here's a preview of what our Wahoo Tackle Box looks like!

OU Open Boat NJ Trips
With the overnight bite turning on, we are going to start putting together open boat overnight tuna trips whenever we get a weather window to run. This time of year, the more flexibility we all have, the more likely to get out and load the boat. ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN GETTING OUT, EMAIL OR CALL US! We will make a list and contact everyone whenever we see a weather window. Hopefully we will be able to get 6 people together and get out. We typically see the windows develop with about 48 hours notice.
