Thatâ??s Right spent the week up in Avalon with wild weather and fun fishing. The first of the week started out with some real positive results, with some nice Wahooâ??s from 30 to 60 pounds along with several 20 to 30 pound yellowfins. All were caught on the troll.  The Hooâ??s seemed to be very quick to bite the ballyhoos with dark sea witches. The tunas seemed to jump on the bars and the long riggers with ballyhoos and select sea witches. Then around mid-week we found ourselves out in the Wilmington hoping for some new results. And thatâ??s what we foundâ?¦a nice catch of Dolphins around the offshore gear.  We had a few pushing 30 pounds and lots from 8 to 15 pounds. Great action on the light tackle as we even had a few guys catching them on jigs. The night, however, didnâ??t show very good results with the tunas.  We did manage to catch a nice swordfish to the mix, however. And yes, the blue sharks did pay a visit as well as plenty of baitâ?¦sardines, tinkers and squids. There were times the bait was so thick you could hardly get any bait down.

By the end of the week the weather hurt us but we did manage to get out Saturday to Sunday. We headed to the south towards the Baltimore and started inshore only to find a couple of yellowfins.  We then moved out to the west wall and  had several bites but only managed to hold on to one more. We got there just as it got dark and the marks were really good.  So we felt like we might have a real good night and we did!! However it wasnâ??t with the tunas, the SHARKS were the worst Iâ??ve ever seen!! We must have caught over 30 all Dusky anywhere from 80 to 200 poundsâ?¦it was CRAZY fun!!! Everybody was worn out thatâ??s for sure. There seemed to be a lot of that going around as most of the other boats had the same complaint. The am brought us little results as the water was 75 when we got there and 70 when we left so as you can tell the water is pushing very hard to the SW. We will back at it on Wednesday in Ocean City where rumor has it that the Wahooâ??s are biting very well.

Pictured right is a current photo of the newly re-designed Mirage 32 weâ??ve been working on for the last 6 months.  The style is a classic â??day boatâ? design, with a three sided hard enclosure below (with windows), and a small flybridge above.  This particular boat will be set-up with dual stations, one below and one up in the bridge.  Currently we are getting ready to set the engines.  This first boat is getting a pair of Volvo IPS, featuring the new â??Sportfish Modeâ? joystick.  This set-up integrates with your autopilot and GPS, and will actually will keep the boat positioned over a wreck if you like!  Pretty cool stuff, going on in marine propulsion these days.  The lower helm area is open all the way back to the transom in traditional â??day boatâ? style.  Going down into the forward cabin, there is a head to port, galley to starboard, and a v-berth forward.  We expect the boat to be sea-trialed in early November and to be featured in both the Atlantic City and Miami boat shows this winter.  As part of our effort to make boat ownership even more affordable, we are offering a unique opportunity for both private owners and charter captains to put their boat to work in the OU Fleet.  Please check out our Charter Program for more details. www.MirageSportfish.com
