2008-06-08 - NC Fishing Outstanding. 185# Bigeye and 400 & 500 Pound Blue Marlin
Oregon Inlet Fishing Report This is the kind of fishing that true fisherman wait for all year, light and variable winds out of the s.w. warm temps and good fishing all around. Pretty much all week long Oregon Inlet produced good to great catches of just about every species being sought. Once again fantastic Blue Marlin fishing, sightings and releases. Pretty Work released a 500 pounder on Tuesday. and a 400 pounder on Sunday. Goods catches of yellowfin (6 to 12 per boat a day) Were common all week long. Still seeing fair numbers of Bigeye Tuna on the docks Pretty Work weighing one in that touched the scales at 185 pounds today. Tuna fishing was done mostly from around the point between 50 and 100 fathoms to the 650, some fish being caught inshore of the 50 fathom line. Dolphin fishing to the south was excellent with most being gaffer class fish. Pretty Work also on a sound trip this week had a nice catch of spanish makeral and also got a couple shots at Cobia. Very good numbers of Cobia are being caught just off the beach between Oregon Inlet and Hatteras. Pretty darn good over all report, sounds like a greatt time to go fishing at Oregon Inlet. Tight Lines, Capt. Randy
