Bahamas Fishing Report

This week we switched gears a bit, and began a three week stretch of extended cruising for couples, and family vacations. This week's vacation started out at San Salvador, and will be visiting the islands of Rum Cay, Cat Island, and Conception Island, before ending up back at San Salvador after a week of fishing, diving, snorkeling, and plenty of relaxation on some of the nicest and most remote beaches you can find anywhere. The last report, from over in the Islands, had the Blue Marlin bite coming on strong. LOW PROFILE hooked into one of the largest Blue Marlin we've ever seen over in the Bahamas on it's last outing, estimated at 700+. It put on quite a show for everyone, including a few of the other boats fishing in the area. Eventually they settled in for a 2 and 1/2 hour battle, and with the release close at hand and the fish estimate down about 100', three White Tips moved in and brought the battle to a somber conclusion. It was one of the best and worst moments we've experienced in recent memory. This all happened fishing out of Hawks Nest on Cat Island. LOW PROFILE then moved back to San Salvador, and is now anchored at Conception Island out of communication for a few days as we write this report.

North Carolina Fishing Report

PRETTY WORK and THATS RIGHT departed for the Summer Fishing season this past week and both arrived safe and sound. PRETTY WORK got right down to business and has fished the last two days. Fishing slowed a bit, but Captain Randy managed to put a nice catch of 6 Yellowfin and a gaffer Dolphin in the boat, on what was a fairly slow day for the fleet. Randy decided to move a bit north of where most folks had been fishing, to avoid a very crowded holiday weekend and it paid off. Not red hot fishing, but good action on an otherwise pretty slow, but very nice day offshore.
