2007-03-10 - Florida Keys and Bahamas Fishing Report
Fishing in the Florida Keys has been quite good over the last week. The King Mackeral can still be found, although not in the numbers we were catching a few weeks ago, but the Grouper seem to have taken up the slack. Mutton Snapper, Amberjacks, and Cobia have all been coming over the rails on recent trips on the Pretty Work out of Bud n' Mary's Marina, here in Islamorada.

Over in San Salvador, the Low Profile has been fishing hard and seeing a nice mixed bag of Wahoo, Yellowfin, Blackfin, and Dolphin. The Yellowfin Tuna are going 40-50 pounds, and the dolphin have been nice also, going 20-30 pounds mostly. On one recent trip were were able to tease a nice bull in close enough to hook him up on a fly-rod. The wahoo are now smaller than we were catching a few weeks ago. Most are going 35-45 pounds, but an occasional 70# class fish comes in here and there. A few billfish are also starting to be spotted here and there. We've also gotten over to Rum Cay, and the bite likewise, has been pretty good, with the NE Point producing the best for us.
