2007-01-21 - Florida Keys Fishing Report - January 21, 2007
Finally a break in the weather this week, as sunny skies and light winds prevailed much of the week. Surprisingly enough, along with the improved weather came a significant pickup in the sailfish bite. Tuesday was our best day, going 3-6, although some boats caught as many as 7 and I talked to one boat who said they had seen 20..The mackeral bite continues to be pretty consisentent, while the bottom fishing has slowed a bit as the lack of current the last few days has made conditions difficult. We are expecting a strong cold front to come through the keys early this coming week and expect that the change in weather should bring cooler water temps and along with it, and overall pickup in the action. We will be fishing the Reef Cup out of Ocean Reef Club, much of this coming week, so look for a good sailfish report from us next week this time.
