2006-12-17 - Florida Keys & Morehead City Giant Bluefin Report
Florida keys fishing has been heating up as of late in sunny Islamorada . There has been an abundance of bait around recently and with that the fish have followed. Sailfish have been around in good numbers, although sometimes only window shopping, due to the amount of bait around . Pretty Work released 3 on a full day trip, along with a box full of King Mackeral. The king and cero mackeral have been very cooperative as of late. On the reef, the snapper fishing has been excellent with limits of yellowtail the norm . The PRETTY WORK also boated a 15 lb mutton snapper on 20lb test . Now is a good time to come down the Florida Keys and go fishing with two boats available. PRETTY WORK and the new addition to Over Under Fleet , LOW PROFILE - 55\' Gwaltney Custom Carolina Sportfish , will both be fishing out of Islamorada and Key Largo until the LOW PROFILE heads to the Bahamas in February.
Up in Morehead City the Giant Bluefin bite has begun to heat up off of the west side of Cape Lookout Shoal. Capt. Sean Fished 6 of the last 7 Days, putting 5 fish in the boat, releasing 2 others, and breaking off a few as well. The weather has been unusually nice, making for a nice start to the season. Today, they boated 2 fish, the biggest one measuring 100 inches and estimated at close to 600#. We\'ve got spots for singles, two person crews, and full charters, so if you\'d like to catch one of these beasts, give us a shout.
